About Misty
Misty was born and raised in Hayward, California, in the heart of the Bay Area. She began her career with the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) in 2005, diligently serving in various units, including Detention & Corrections, Court Services, the Eden Township Substation, and Peralta Police Services.

In 2014, Misty was transferred to Dublin Police Services, where she took on the role of general detective specializing in sexual assault investigations in 2015. Her sharp investigative skills and determination quickly earned her recognition. One of her notable achievements was uncovering critical evidence—a single strand of blonde hair—that unlocked an unsolved crime. Misty’s expertise played a pivotal role in cracking the Denise Huskins case, as featured in the docuseries American Nightmare. Her work also led to solving other connected sexual assault cases.

Misty continued in this role until 2018, when she was promoted to Sergeant and assigned to the Glenn E. Dyer Detention Facility in Oakland. In 2019, she transitioned to Santa Rita Jail, taking on responsibilities within the Grievance/Litigation and Security Units.

In 2024, Misty achieved the rank of Lieutenant and now oversees the Projects, Supply, Kitchen, and Laundry Units at Santa Rita Jail. In addition, she serves as the Coordinator for the Agency’s Health and Wellness Unit, demonstrating her commitment to the well-being of her colleagues and the community she serves.
